It took us a while to find a nice idea for the next blog entry. Eventually, we decided to write something about our goals in 2018 in the form of a bucket list. This way you will get to know us a bit better and who knows, maybe the one or other shares similar goals and we can meet up! We will start with Anskars bucket list and Leas will come up next week!

Travel bucket list
As bucket lists are usually about traveling, I will start with the places I want to visit in 2018. With all the years traveling remote and exotic countries, I kind of learned to appreciate what we have in front of our doorstep. Don’t get me wrong, traveling the world is awesome but can also be quite tiring. With time I started researching what nature and national parks we have in Europe (Germany in particular) and I was quite surprised. I’ve always looked far away when searching for the next country to visit. But we have so much to see in Germany! From the Wadden Sea to the Watzmann, we have everything! Ranging from beautiful lakes, impressive waterfalls, well-forested national parks and high mountain peaks.
In January we had some spare time and used a couple of days to instantly make true our new year’s resolutions: visit more German National Parks. By visiting the Harz National Park during winter we already scratched something off our bucket list! But we will definitely come back once more to this beautiful place, hopefully in 2018! On my “visit Germany” list for 2018 is also the National Park Saxon Switzerland with its beautiful Elbe sandstone highlands one more time, as well as the black forest during the autumn season. For 2018 we just want to use time more efficiently and make short trips whenever we have the time. It doesn’t always need to be a two weeks’ vacation. A day trip or a weekend can give you a nice impression of an area. It can also be very stress relieving and a nice distraction from your every day’s stress! So 2018s ultimate goal: explore more the own country!
When it comes to foreign countries, Norway and Iceland are on the summit of my bucket list. I truly hope I’ll find the time to visit one of these places in 2018. I just can’t stop thinking about this harsh but beautiful surrounding, sleeping in tents wherever we want and explore hidden corners.
Social media bucket list
In regards to social media is the meeting of new people what determines my bucket list. I’ve already met someone over Instagram which is the proof for me that a social platform really can serve the actual purpose of being social. It’s just nice to actually meet other people, to engage and to learn from each other. I hope I’ll have a few more of these experiences in 2018!
Of course, social media (as Facebook, Instagram and our website) have a high priority in our life. We can reach out to people, motivate them and engage with other like-minded. Therefore, a goal on my bucket list is to maintain our social media platforms in a professional way. I am always happy to get feedback on the work we do, as everything we do is voluntary. It is not our job, we just share our passion with you! A way to step up and extend is using sponsoring and we already found a nice collaboration, info about that will follow soon. We are very excited!
Instagram, along with the other platforms, are extremely strong and valuable in our today’s world. Nearly every organization makes use of at least one platform and it is just good to know “how things work” on these platforms. But still, social media will not be my highest priority in 2018, this is devoted to my bachelor thesis.
Study & work bucket list
Which brings us to the last part of my bucket list 2018: finishing my bachelors study! This has and will have the highest priority in 2018. We just started writing our thesis and the data collection will start from April on. Hopefully, we are finished by the by the summer of 2018 and we are very curious where the path will lead us afterwards. We have already some interesting master studies in prospect. I truly hope we will find some time in between the stressful writing to scratch off some other bucket list goals and visit some beautiful places!
I don’t really see photography as my job or work but still, I definitely want to improve it! There is much more to learn and I hope I’ll find some time to learn new things!
I can highly recommend creating a bucket list. Why? It is simply nice to have list and to actually think about what you really want to do, see or experience. And trust me, it is a nice feeling to scratch something off the list! It can help to motivate yourself to go out and to explore or do other activities. It is a bit like new year’s resolutions but usually its something more positive.
Let me know what’s on your bucket list! Have you already checked something of in 2018? And don’t forget to have a look at Leas bucket list, coming up next week!
Have a great day and thanks for reading!
